Happening on 17 – 18 September 2011 at the Broadwater Parklands Southport, the Gold Coast Acoustics will showcase diverse styles of music from all over the globe. From laid back original music to upbeat fast and fierce bluegrass, Cajun and gypsy music, the Acoustic Music Festival will definitely bring you an awesome and rousing set of performances. The Festival was created to encourage everyone to get involved with music and provide platform for emerging and established musicians to showcase their talents. Moreover, the annual Acoustic Music Festival also features some of the best folk, roots and bluegrass musical presentations from local and international artists.
This year, guests from our Runaway Bay accommodation can expect a great line up of musicians performing for this year’s Gold Coast Acoustic Music Festival. Be in awe with the mindblowing performances from Súnas, Taina Asili (USA), Frencham Smith, Asa Broomhall, Paul Burton, Nadia Sunde, Michael Fix, Ewan MacKenzie, The Stetson Family, Apple Tree, O’Donnells, Fiddle in the Middle, Mama Juju, Barkers Vale Brothers, Balyana, Bernie Carson, Soul Sisters, Phil Monsour Band, Lauren Crick, Simon Thomas, and Angharad Drake.
Aside from excellent musical sets, the Festival will also feature workshops conducted by some of the best musicians in the land. You can learn basic and advances lessons on guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, singing, songwriting, singing in pigeon English, Celtic, Cajun and Bluegrass. There will also be jam sessions and open mic for beginner, intermediate and advanced musicians.
