The spectacular bodies of water that flows through the Gold Coast creates a great venue for so many exciting water sport championship competitions for surfing and wakeboarding. We at the Broadwater Shores Waterfront Apartments once again invite everyone to take part on another tremendous sporting event as the Coast with the Most will bring you exciting rounds of boat racing at Gold Coast Cup 2011.
For this season, boat racing aficionados at our Broadwater accommodation holiday apartments will certainly enjoy the beautiful outdoors, camaraderie and awesome events at the Gold Coast Cup 2011. Happening on 28-29 May 2011, the Gold Coast Cup will be paddling its way from Coolangatta to the finish line, through the Seaway at the Spit and finishing in front of the Volunteer Marine Rescue. This year’s competition will test the skills and discipline of the best boat paddlers in the region. The competition will feature paddlers on Teams of 9 men / 10 women or mixed crews. The competition will have 5 Adult Age Divisions – Open Age (20 yrs and above), Masters (35 yrs and above 40 yrs and above), Senior Masters (45 yrs and above 50 yrs and above), Golden Masters (55 yrs and above 55 yrs and above), and Juniors (14 yrs and above).
The Gold Coast Cup will be handing out medals as well as prize money for the winning teams on each divisions. Medals will be awarded to all team paddlers for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place across all divisions, regardless of the number of crews entered.
Holiday makers especially participating paddlers at our Runaway Bay accommodation can take part in all of the exciting happenings at the Gold Coast Cup. Aside from the 2 action-packed days of competition, the sporting event will also hold a Presentation and After Party at Marina Mirage.
